The Brooks Canada Marathon Project is designed to provide athletes with the opportunity to train for either the Olympic Games or the World Championships within two to six years.
Mike and Paul Dyon of Brooks Canada want to support athlete's future goals. The Project provides athletes adequate time to focus on their training, without the concern for financial support. Athletes live and train together in a challenging and supportive enviroment.
Mike Dyon has a marathon best of 2:14:28 and competed for canada at the 1982 Commonwealth Games, two World Cups and was a four time Canadian Marathon Champion. The company has been sponsoring amateur athletes across Canada for the past twenty-nine years.
To qualify, athletes must meet minimum Performance Standards. Other factors include their willingness to relocate, being prepared for a change in running program direction and agreeing to training and racing requirements.
The Project is supported through private sponsorship from Brooks Canada. Brooks Canada is the exclusive footwear and apparel sponsor of the Brooks Canada Marathon Project.
